It is with indescribable joy and emotion that I write this article to congratulate Germany on its historic decision to decriminalise cannabis. 1 April 2024 marks a new era for the country as the possession, cultivation and consumption of cannabis becomes legal.
This development is an important step towards social justice and the protection of individual freedoms. Prohibition of cannabis has proven ineffective, leading to mass incarceration, stigma and fuelling the black market.
