Regardless of whether the European Union has been subsidising the cultivation of industrial hemp since 1990, in our country industrial hemp was excluded from the list of illegal controlled substances in Greek legislation in 2013 and in 2016 the legal cultivation of the same varieties was regulated in the Greek territory. Hemp products are legal if they have THC<0.2% according to paragraph 3 of article 1 of Law 4139/2013.
Cannabidiol (CBD) is not included in the list of prohibited substances in Law 3459/2006 and when the flowers of cannabis varieties do not contain THC above 0.2% it is legal.
