4 Assed Monkey

"4 Assed Monkey" - those familiar with Mephisto know that we don't just use a name to sell seeds, jump on the hype train or back down from someone else's hard work. It's not our style. In fact, to create a new auto strain that actually bears a significant resemblance to the photoperiod strain you start with takes a lot of dedication, even more than the usual high levels of work and time we dedicate. In our opinion and experience, it can take 3 crosses on the desired photoperiod to really lock in the features and feel comfortable putting that little word, "automatic" before or after a famous strain name. To do this project could easily take 5-6 years.

This unique cross of Gorilla Glue #4 in our Grape Crinkle, working over 4 generations to become fully automatic along with testing time, took over 2 years. Initially we did a cross of GG#4 x Ripleys OG and also GG#4 in Grape Crinkle for evaluation, but after developing F1, we ended up with GG#4 and the Grape Crinkle cross Mr was what developed. We are pleased to say that we are thrilled with the result, and calling it the 4 Assed Monkey, this is a tribute to being associated with Gorilla Glue #4, as well as our company namesake, Dr. Mephisto, who made his own 5 monkeys in his lab. We're on our crazy farm developing 4 monkeys, so for us, 4 Assed Monkey seems pretty poetic. This girl is fast, glistening with frost, high content and has become something unique that we are very proud of.
