In a previous Article from we talked about the recent alternative cannabinoid called THC-9P which because of its name may be difficult to pass the legislation in Europe as it was with Delta8-THC before.
But scientists are constantly discovering new cannabinoids and the latest to make its appearance on the cannabis market is Delta-9P.
Delta-9P and THC-9P are two different cannabis molecules. Delta 9P is an isomer of THC-9P which means that they have the same chemical structure but differ in the position of their bonds. Delta-9P has a double bond on the 9th carbon atom, while THC-9P has a double bond on the 8th carbon atom.
This difference in the position of the double bond is what changes the way the molecule binds to cannabinoid receptors in the brain.
This means that Delta-9P is more potent than THC-9P. The power of Delta 9P is about 35 times the power of THC-9P
Delta 9P is still too new and there are no studies on health effects. However, it is certain that it causes more intense effects than the well-known THC such as pain relief, increased euphoria and relaxation but it is also likely to cause negative effects such as anxiety, insomnia and hallucinations.
Finally, it is good to know that Delta-9P can have negative effects if used in excessive amounts and therefore needs special attention.
